January 2023 Prof. Klytta farewell as coordinator at THM
At the start of 2023, the overall coordination of the CUCEE network on the part of THM was transferred to Professor Dr Rafael Greszczynski. Professor Marius Klytta was dismissed by the Executive Board on 17.01.2023. We would like to thank Professor Klytta for his many years of successful leadership of the CUCEE network at THM.
February 2023 Hybrid meeting of CUCEE members in Tallinn/online
The partners from Tallinn, Gliwice and Gießen/Friedberg participating in the ERASMUS+ KA2 research project REMAKER met hybrid (in Tallinn and online) for a working meeting. CUCEE topics were also discussed, with colleagues from Vilnius and Zielona Gora taking part. The main topics discussed were integrated study programmes and student exchanges.
A project meeting was held at the THM in Friedberg in May 2023. The focus was on visits to various industrial companies.
We met in Pilsen in October 2023. The focus was on automation technology and company visits on this topic.

April 2023 Meeting on the RELABEMA project
Our joint research projects offer the opportunity to expand our collaboration. Furthermore, we try to get to know new potential CUCEE partners with the help of these projects. RELABEMA also offered us the opportunity to involve students in our research. Around 50 pupils and students from 5 countries and 7 schools/universities met in Gliwice/Ustron to test the content of the project. Of course, great emphasis was placed on intercultural exchange.
It was the last big meeting in this project. It ends in July 2023.
April 2023 CUCEE half-year meeting
Our half-year meeting took place as part of the RELABEMA project meeting. New research projects, student exchanges and guest lectures at partner universities were discussed. Colleagues from Ukraine and Belarus were unable to attend.
June 2023 Launch of the new homepage
Our homepage is a bit outdated, so we have revised it in 2023. The aim is to inform those interested in an exchange about the CUCEE network. Potential students for our double degrees as well as partners for research and development should be informed and encouraged to work together.
October 2023 Start of the integrated study programme for students from Zielona Gora and Gliwice
This academic year also starts with three applicants for a double degree. One student from the University of Zielona Gora and two students from Politechnika Slaska in Gliwice will stay at THM for one year.
November 2023 Annual Meeting
This year's annual meeting took place in Giessen at the THM. The meeting focussed on consolidating cooperation. The partners agree that the CUCEE network could be used as a platform to offer support to students from other disciplines than the traditional ones when studying abroad.
A particular highlight of this year's meeting was the presence of our partners from Lviv/Ukraine.
At the meeting, we bid farewell to our founder and previous head of the CUCCE network, Professor Marius Klytta, with a special gift. Under the motto "He rocked Europe", his successor Professor Rafael Greszczynski presented his predecessor, a passionate guitar player, with a custom-made guitar in the shape of Europe and the names of our partner countries.
Another item on the programme and a source of particular pride for all our partners was the award presented to two students. One student each from Zielona Gora and Gliwice were honoured as the best of their year in the department of electrical engineering and information technology. They achieved the double degree with outstanding achievements. It should be emphasised that the two Polish students studied in Giessen in German language.
